"The countenance is the portrait of the soul, and the eyes mark its intentions."
- Marcus Tullius Cicero
This series, Confrontation, was born out of a desire to capture the intensity of a single
mysterious gaze. The deliberate play of shadows, tones, and light helped serve to bring
out the subject's unspoken thoughts and emotions from seemingly neutral expressions.
In this series, I rediscovered how portraiture is a projection of my own thoughts and
emotions.
